Since at least a million dollars are spent out of tithing by the church’s PR department each year (probably way more than this), I’m curious how this compares to the public relations campaign that Jesus undertook in his time.

What are your thoughts on this use of your tithing dollars?
gumby – one million/year would only allow to pay a $34,000 salary to 30 people (not even including radio & TV spots). It doesn’t take much for a corporation to spend that amount. As for where the funds come from we cannot be certain since the LDS church is one of a few churches that does not disclose its financial records. I’ve assumed that the operations of the church are fincanced through tithing donations and that its other ventures (building malls) are funded through its corporate holdings.


Historically, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) has not wanted to be called Christians. Their founder, Joseph Smith, said that Christians were ‘all wrong’ – their creeds were an abomination and that they were all corrupt.’ (Pearl of Great Price).

The Mormon church is now spending millions of dollars on a public relations campaign aimed at moving into mainstream Christianity and trying to overcome the stigma of being a cult. The political and economic benefits are obvious. Further, if they are accepted as traditional Christians their proselytising of Christian denominations will also be easier
If you can’t accept what the leader of your church has stated, how can you accept your church. I don’t make this stuff up I simply question it.

My question is to our muslim brothers and sisters.I am from Turkey.Last week Turkey and 50 African countries made a conference to develop economic,social and cultural relations.As you know 6 month ago, a similar meeting made between european union and africa.But the secular media,secular writers,secular tvs of my country started a war against this relations they don’t want it develops because most of these countries are muslim or maybe they don’t want that west loses africa.They do same things whenever an arab investor came to turkey to invest in my country.(I don’t think europeans and americans become angry when the capital of gulf came to their countries)When Ahmedinejad came to Turkey they don’t want us make an agreement with Iran like Israel and Usa.In conclusion.They always work for their economic partners from west and always making propaganda against muslim world.Is this a kind of secular brotherhood or capitalist brotherhood?and is there a similar media in your countries(who loves west,jews and money and hates from their own people)

15. Did you know that on May 20, 1990, a group of unarmed Palestinian laborers were lined up and murdered by an Israeli solider as they sat waiting for transportation back to Gaza? The terrified laborers who gathered in an area of southern Israel known as Rishon Lezion (known to Palestinians by its Arabic name Oyon Qara) handed their ID cards to the Israeli soldier. The soldiers ordered the distressed laborers to kneel down and face the ground and unexpectedly showered them with a barrage of bullets, killing seven and wounding many others. Needless to say, the soldier was not charged with any crime.
