fools, despite seemingly strong, but in reality, just plain weak and useless arguments ?
Were past US presidents, inclusive of Reagan, Clinton, Bush,Sr. Bush Jr and now Obama actually afraid of Israel?

Israel ‘deaf’ To Two-State Solution
US calls for a two-state solution “fell on deaf ears”, the Palestinians’ chief negotiator with Israel has said. Speaking to Al Jazeera on Tuesday, after the first official meeting between Barack Obama, the US president, and Binyamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister, Saeb Erekat indicated that Palestinians had low expectations of the outcome.
In their talks in Washington, Obama told Netanyahu to stop expanding Jewish settlements and grasp the “historic opportunity” to make peace with the Palestinians.
“We appreciate very much what Mr Obama said … [But] I’m sure this fell on deaf ears. Mr Netanyahu will continue to be in a state of denial.”He will not accept the two-state solution, he will not accept agreements signed. He will continue with settlement activities and he thinks he can beat about the bush by more vagueness and linguistics and public relations campaigns.”
“In four hours of talks with Obama, Netanyahu refused to publicly commit to an independent Palestinian state.
He told Obama that Israel was “ready” to resume negotiations with the Palestinians, which stalled during Israel’s 22-day offensive in the Gaza Strip, but avoided endorsing the two-state solution.”If we resume negotiations then I think the Palestinians will have to recognize Israel as a Jewish state and also enable Israel to have the means to defend itself,” Netanyahu said.Following the meeting, Netanyahu said: “I did not say two states for two peoples.”
He also said that Israel did not want to govern the Palestinians.”We want them to govern themselves [minus] a handful of powers that could endanger the state of Israel,” Netanyau said.
But Erekat rejected this as rhetoric.”Really, when he [Netanyahu] says that he wants Palestinians to govern themselves by themselves – Mr Netanyahu I have a question for you: How can I govern myself by myself under your wall, settlements, incursions, assasinations, roadblocks?”
Sherine Tadross, Al Jazeera’s correspondent reporting from Jerusalem, said that Israel officially remained up beat about the meeting but that the press saw the two leaders as finding little common ground.
“The official line is that it was a very good meeting, that there was a lot of chemistry between the two leaders and there were a lot of common interests expressed … now that is a world apart from how the Israeli press has read the situation,” she said. “Certainly, it seems, the line that is often given to US presidents by Israeli leaders – ‘listen I need more time because domestically I’m not in a situation where I can press my fragile coalition government to dismantle settlements and establish a two state solution’ – was not bought by Obama.
As for “Settlement” concerns, despite Obama’s call for a halt to settlement building, there were reports that Israel was moving ahead with construction of a new settlement on the east side of the West Bank, where Israeli officials have already issued tenders for housing units in the area,
Does Netanyahu laugh at us?
No pepper
I do not **** jews and I do not **** Israel. I just have opinions that you may not agree with. I have that right, It does not mean that I am antisemitic. Quite the contrary. It also means that I have a mind of my own. And that I do not have to agree with everything Israel does or says.
Why is it when someone questions something Israel does they are automatically labeled?
Israel is no bettr than anyone else!
No I do not believe in the ‘chosen people theory’ nor do I believe that Jews have a ‘promised land’.
Yes I believe the Holocaust happened.
But I also believe that there are others who are not Jewish who have suffered equally, and more, through unspeakable, reprehensible acts.
Perhaps it is more that people are beginning to realize that everyone i the United States does not ascribe to the doings of one Benyamin Netanyahu.
Enough said.
I fear that Muslims will all be thought of as terrorists in the future as they are the only threat the west will (hopefully) encounter. And to be truthfull – although its quite illogical – I feel a bit iffy aound them, even though ive met many muslims and found them to be very decent. I think my main point is, is that you only ever hear about the bad side of Islam, and the good side of this great religion is never whispered of.
But who’s fault is that?
Constantly referring to Obama as the first Black President. Constantly referring to Sotomayor as the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice. And now, the Cambridge incident.
Do these, and other stories in the press, help or hurt race relations in this country? Would it improve if the media left race out of the stories? Instead of constantly referring to Obama as the first Black President, just calling him the 44th President.
Bill Ayers: Weather Underground terrorist, Communist, and Distinguished professor of education at the University of Chicago, known for his work in Educational reform.
On March 6, 1970, while preparing bombs for the enlisted dance at Ft Dix and for the Butler library at Columbia University the nail bomb being constructed detonated killing 3 Weathermen. Ayers and others had to go into hiding until years later their lawyers made a deal and they turned themselves in. The Government botched the case and Ayers walked free.
“Guilty as hell, free as a bird. America is a great country.” Bill Ayers.
Bernardine Dohrn (SDS Weatherman and Ayers wife) worked at the same Law firm when Obama the first year law student was hired there.
Obama served on the board of directors of William Ayers baby the Chicago Annenberg Challenge which in turn funded the William Ayers and Mike Klonsky`s (SDS Communist, Progressives for Obama) Small Schools Workshop. Obama and Ayers later served together as board members on the Woods Fund. Woods Fund also became a contributor to Small School Workshops. Carl Davidson (SDS Marxist Socialist) also works for Small Schools Workshop. Carl and Marlyn Katz, (SDS Socialist) introduced Obama to the world in the 2002 anti war rally where Obama delared he was against the War. Katz works on Obama’s Campaign as Consultant of Public Relations.
Obama chaired the Annenberg Challenge for three years and served on Woods Fund board for another three years, working closely with Ayers on grants to Chicago schools.
Ask your self this, would you put a no name young lawyer right out of law school as the Director of your $50 million fund if you didn`t know him well?
Was Obama Ayers puppet to dish out money? Is Obama Ayers puppet now?
While most media attention is focused this week on the Senate debate on the economic stimulus package, the Obama administration is preparing to roll out a new plan to bail out the banks, involving a trillion dollars or more in public assets.
Under the plan, which Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner is expected to announce within the next two weeks, the government will buy up virtually worthless mortgage-backed securities and other “toxic” assets held by the banks and provide guarantees against future losses for much of their remaining assets. It will also continue to inject cash directly into the banks.
Indeed, one of the purposes of the stimulus package is to provide political cover, in the form of aid to “Main Street,” for the offloading of Wall Street’s losses onto the American people. Meanwhile, the stimulus plan, which does nothing to halt the destruction of jobs or the wave of home foreclosures, but includes lucrative tax write-offs for business and funnels government projects to private companies, is being weakened further at the behest of Wall Street and congressional Republicans. It is now reported that Obama has dropped a provision that would allow bankruptcy judges to lower the principal and ease mortgage terms for distressed homeowners.
The administration is mounting a public relations campaign—starting with Obama’s public wrist-slap of Wall Street executives for continuing to reward themselves with billions in bonuses—to give the impression that it is cracking the whip on executive compensation. But as the Washington Post reports, “[T]he administration is likely to refrain from imposing tough restrictions on executive compensation at most firms receiving government aid” because “harsh limits could discourage some firms from asking for aid.”
The new bank bailout, like every measure that has been devised in response to the financial meltdown, will be tailored entirely to the interests of the financial aristocracy. Under the terms of the plan, as outlined in various press reports, the bad assets accumulated through speculation and fraud will be transferred to a “bad bank” owned by the government. The government will buy these assets not at their actual market value, which is pennies on the dollar, but, according to the Financial Times, on the basis of a “valuation model,” guaranteeing premium prices for bank executives and big shareholders.

Democrats struggle with online questions
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Democratic presidential hopefuls struggled Monday night to answer questions posed by young, Internet-savvy voters who challenged traditional political labels and the candidates’ own place in a broken political system.
It took three tries to get Clinton to answer the same questions. She finally said American ground troops don’t belong in the fight because they are overextended in Iraq.
She also refused to call herself a liberal. “I prefer the word progressive, which has a very American meaning,” she said.

Since Al Gore created this whole Internet thing, you know, wouldn’t that give them some kind of advantage?
Industry Ignored Its Scientists on Climate
For more than a decade the Global Climate Coalition, a group representing industries with profits tied to fossil fuels, led an aggressive lobbying and public relations campaign against the idea that emissions of heat-trapping gases could lead to global warming.
“The role of greenhouse gases in climate change is not well understood,” the coalition said in a scientific “backgrounder” provided to lawmakers and journalists through the early 1990s, adding that “scientists differ” on the issue.
But a document filed in a federal lawsuit demonstrates that even as the coalition worked to sway opinion, its own scientific and technical experts were advising that the science backing the role of greenhouse gases in global warming could not be refuted. ( http://documents.nytimes.com/global-climate-coalition-aiam-climate-change-primer#p=1 )
“The scientific basis for the Greenhouse Effect and the potential impact of human emissions of greenhouse gases such as CO2 on climate is well established and cannot be denied,” the experts wrote in an internal report compiled for the coalition in 1995

George Monbiot, a British environmental activist and writer, said that by promoting doubt, industry had taken advantage of news media norms requiring neutral coverage of issues, just as the tobacco industry once had.
“They didn’t have to win the argument to succeed,” Mr. Monbiot said, “only to cause as much confusion as possible.”
