That just wack. Liberal (the american sense of the word- not in the european economic sense of the word) and conservative are ideologies. Democrat and Republican are the parties that make up our two party system. A Democrat can be conservative (Dixiecrats) and a Republican can be liberal. And I in no way am a Democrat. I am not registered as one and do not plan to. I have no connection to the two corporate parties and their paymasters. I am a socialist and vote in that manner in almost all elections. And I also occasionally vote Libertarian. So any reply like, “Clinton was a draft dodger or a aldulterer, etc.” has nothing to do with an argument concerning political philosophy and does not concern me. I am concerned with the issue at large and not the horserace between the two parties. I am not concerned with their consultants, their public relations campaigns, their focus groups, their sound bites, etc. Ideas are of my concern.

I am an old political science master’s graduate and cannot believe how the use of focus groups have changed modern day politics. Has much more to do with public relations rather than issues. The problem is, if the president (or any other politician for that matter) is simply echoing back what he was told to say by advisors who studied a focus group, where does he really stand on the issue? This is the current problem we are facing with the Iraq mess. Bad news is somehow spinned into good news. And the president is getting advice from Karl Rove and other advisors on what words to use and what words not to use based on focus groups and random polls. Meanwhile, the root of the issue is ignored and debate is stifled. I am not exclusively picking on Bush either. Clinton was the king of using polls and focus groups to spin information. And in the end, you weren’t really sure what he personally stood for.

Ask your self this, would you put a no name young lawyer right out of law school as the Director of your $50 million fund if you didn`t know him well?
Ayers SDS has worked tirelessly for 40 years to To make America a Communist/Socialist Nation.The old guard SDS Communists did not like Kerry and called for a boycott in voting for him but they are pulling every stop to elect Obama.
This is irresponsible behavior on the part of the President. Abizaid and another commanding general (Pace?) already publicly stated that things in Baghdad are worsening and the situation is on the verge of civil war. Today, CBS news stated that another senior pentagon official stated that the situation is becoming more bleak. I am not anti war. I simply want our President to be honest with the American public instead of launching yet another public relations spin campaign like he has done within the past couple of days. This is irresponsible behavior to go against the analysis of commanding generals. And Rumsfeld is guilty of this too.
I don’t mean politic relations between two governments but relations between Russian and American peoples, their reciprocal antipathy. What is the reason – mutual jealousy, international “competition”, difference of two value systems, something else? Or maybe it is doing of the mass media executing government orders?
Can I go straight for a Masters in Social work with this BA or do I have to start all over?? I would love to work in Refugee Resettlement for a non-profit, adoption placement, foster care or anything related to this field. Im just not really sure how to go about all of this. Where do I start and how long is the schooling process?? Help!
