I would be using Outlook, not a giant bulk mailing system, do I have to have an opt out link? Is it legal to send these emails in the first place? My service is aimed at a certain business sector and is a no cost program…

Why did the media give so much more attention to the sexual relations issue? And why has the CIA leak not gotten Bush into more trouble?
Labour Relations Case?

I need some insights on the following case, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Garbage collectors (belongs to a union) in a town wants higher pay (eg 17%),but the mayor know that there is no way taxpayers will accept a settlement near that. What are some of the problem faced by both sides in such a labour dispute?

The mayor suggested 1) not hiring any more union personnel to do the job. 2) Mount newspaper advertising campaign to get the public behind them, playing on the fear of massive tax increases, then garbage collectors won’t have public support. 3) Also asking union to guarantee garbage collection for old people during a stike, playing on if they refuse, they would look bad in public.
Is the town in a strong bargaining position?
In contrast, what strengths does the union have?

If you were a labour relations consultant, would you agree on the strategy the mayor suggests? What alternative would you suggest?

If you haven’t heard about this situation, I’d refer you to colorofchange.org, or google “Jena 6″. It is stunning that in any place in America, that there are still DA’s using their power in this manner. This is very alarming as the media has no real coverage of it, or of the injustice that is currently taking place in this town. It seems that the Govenor (Blanco) isn’t really intervening. Why is such obvious sign of racism and prejudice still apparent in America, and why are the officials that aren’t trying to “bury” these Black kids, helping to bring justice, or at least media attention. Combine that with the fact that OJ is being covered like he committed murder (again), and it makes me think the media has alterior motives in keeping this situation under wraps. Do you (those that answer) feel they are worried about a riot(s), or something else? What can be done to rectify the relations in America? Will it ever subside? Please keep comments respectful! Thank you!
Blood, but the white kids jumped the black kids too, but there was no charge. As far as the OJ, is wasn’t moronic (see comment about respectful) it was a comparision to what the media decides to portray.
Scrpt, even if hanging nooses are not illegal, it does qualify as a **** crime, or at least a really poor joke.
Holbrook,
Actually I did. that was clearly a fraudulent case. Please don’t convey the sense that I am one-sided in this situation. Furthermore, that situation never involved racial **** crimes (they may have been a side effect, but it wasn’t in the very nature of the act). the point I was making is why the media didn’t give this the coverage it deserved. Your last statement about fighting over that is noble, but not what I really was after. Nice to see someone still has self-discipline.
Larry…
That is an interesting take on the matter. How you found that criminal record on Mr. Bell is also commendable, but what about the other facts that you left out. It was a riot at the school, and he wasn’t (there were blacks beaten up too, he just got it the worse) the only party to be jumped. In December of 06 a Black kid was jumped by a group of whites, yet on one was charged with a misdemeanor. Moreover, how do you justify a whites-only tree on a high school campus, yet say that the town isn’t ******. What about the overzealous (prejudice presumably) DA wanting to try juveniles as an adult for a school fight, yet only pushing for a misdemeanor for the December 06 party fight. You, sir have shown that there are those who will condone and even promote this type of behavior. These black students didn’t ask for this, it was brought to them, by a town who has a created an environment of prejudice (see the tree comment). And referring to Mr. Sharpton as a thug is wrong.

What public relations problems may be evident when a community turns down a bond issue to improve school financing?

What public relations actions do you consider important in building and maintaining strong support of schools?

plz plz help

THANK YOU!

Your public relations agency has been offered a seven-figure fee to represent Seven-Eleven Limited, a big conglomerate that operates gambling casinos in 15 states. The conglomerate is lobbying to conduct a referendum in Ohio on casino gambling The conglomerate wants you to organize and help orchestrate a grass roots campaign, that will be called “Citizens for Economic Growth,” to help secure passage of this referendum.

There’s a catch though. The casino conglomerate wants to conceal all of its connection and ties to “Citizens for Economic Growth.” They think that revealing they are tied to the group would hurt its chances for success.

Do you accept this assignment? Why? Or, why not?

B. Do you believe it’s ethical to conceal information that might have an impact on the results of a public relations campaign?

I have this question in an assignment:

Your first public ………………………………………….…………3
Use the name of your public as a heading; each public will have its own heading. You should have at least six here.

First, what are publics????
Any examples of 6 types of publics????

I have recently had a family member pass away and local new station has decided they want to do a broadcasting on his death.

Does anyone know a penal code that deals with media’s relations to a death. Please advise. Thanks!
I don’t want them to run it. I told them they do not have my consent!

I need specifics… what kind of schooling do I need to get a good job and for how long do I need to be in school if at all? What kinds of things can I do to get my foot in the door? Are there extracurricular activities that could help me get that extra boost? Where do I start? Can you recommend any websites to me that could help me or that you know are great pr places to work for?

Thank you all.
