I invested in Rite Aid (RAD) last year at $6.42 a share with a $2000 investment but it had gone down to $2.50 by March of 2008. I’ve purchased additional shares and invested another $3000 hoping that the stock price will turn around and at least break-even on my investment when the stock was on its way down. But today, the stock is trading at $1 a share and my $5000 is now only about $1500. I would more than anything love to get rid of this stock but doing so now would mean a $3500 loss. I initially bought because I had hoped that its Eckard acquisition would turn into huge profits for the company but instead is putting servere debt and operating losses on Rite Aid. The company is forcasting another $.50 per share loss for next quarter but I was assured by someone at investor relations that the company is not heading for bankruptcy. What should I do? Should I sell the stock and take the huge loss or hold on for long term and see if it will go up?
If you would be so kind to me, Would you please teach me whether stock of Diethelm Keller Group (Diethelm) is traded in SWX Swiss Exchange or not?
Reason of asking of the teaching:
I would like to know whether the Diethelm operates as a stock-company or non-stock-company.
I searched the Diethelm’s website, www.diethelmkeller.com, and other the Diethelm’s websites* for 30 minutes until 15 minutes ago, but could not find- investor relations information about the Diethelm- at the search.
*other the Diethelm’s websites: Alphabetical order.

My question really only applies to anyone that owns some shares in Big Apple Worldwide (BPWW). I doubt anyone you owns any will even see my question but, what the can’t..can’t hurt to ask. Anyways..I, like so many others received hundreds of thousands of shares valued at nearly nothing with only a rumored verbal (how’s that for validity? haha) promise that these shares would become unrestricted and free to trade 12 months after their disbursement. That 12 month soon changed to 24 months and that was the last anyone heard as far as I know. It has now been around 27 months and still nothing. BPWW Investor Relations won’t return calls or emails. This isn’t something I lose sleep over, because I assumed when I received the shares that they would be nothing but fire starters.
Anyway..anyone know anything about these guys besides what their trumped up pinksheet PRs say every few days?
I am asking this because I really dont understand how this happened. Id there some clause that says “if you are on the brink of failure, we can steal all of your stuff and stick the bill with your shareholders?” How did an entity, sort of like Freddie mac in the sense that it is not a government entity, but a private corporation with certain government like powers, Take another private Corporation’s assets, and sell them off. I really do not understand how this happened.
Please no political rants, only educated answers.
I did lose some money on the deal and can’t get any answers from investor relations, so I am really hoping one of the million people on here can let me in on the little secret.
$12,000
My aunt and I plan to do something together with my money. Since I cannot trade that much yet because of my age, I decided to let her manage my money, she is very knowledgeable about trading and investing. She’s the Investor Relation Officer of a very well known oil company, I’m not telling you which one hahaha….
so here we plan to invest $12,000 of my money to a foreign country, we can’t decide yet, maybe some country that we have connections, we plan to invest it on commodities especially rice, rice is very much in-demand in some countries that are not developed countries
She told me that we can buy rice and hold on to them for a month or so…….. then that can yield me up to 15 pecent after a month or two= 13800 approx. after each selling month…
my question is where else can we invest… I’m thinking about stocks.. stock prices are very low these days… so we thought it’s a good idea to do both commodities and stocks…
im asking for opinion
is stock trading these days good-or-bad?
thanks..
state your trading experience please
you guys won’t believe it… maybe you should get some info’s regarding prices of goods in different countries especially in 3rd world countries…. it’s really really rising…
I’m a new stock investor. I came across a website that explains their services as: “The purpose of our ‘Swing Trades’ is to give short term stock investors a list of stocks for swing trading that have a profit potential, Long or Short over a period of one week.” What does the long and short mean in relation to this sentence? Please explain how you use these in trading relating to how they used it in their sentence. Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I have a question with interpreting the bond table. There are several columns describing a bond’s information and the most important are the $Bid and the Yield%.
1. I am aware that the $Bid value is quoted in relation to 100, like a percentage; but what does this really mean?
2. I know the yield % is not the current yield but instead it is the YTM (yield to maturity); How do i use this information to help me interpret the bond value?
For example, if a bond’s $Bid is 106.55 and its Yield% is 6.04, is this bad or good? Is it bad b/c the the bond price has risen, therefore suggesting the yield % will decrease?
How do i use the yield% of 6.04 to analyze if i should keep or sell the bond??
