Despite the large mass of land and strength of the economy, Canada was a dependent country governed by the British Empire until late 1920’s. Ever since before the 1920’s, has Canada relied on their motherland Britain to maintain their status in the world, and to assist them with economical needs such as resources. Britain was Canada most reliable trading partner, and contained the highest number of investor in Canada. However this mutual bond between Britain and Canada, which thought to be endless, started to falter after the Great World War. In addition, Canada’s willingness for independent from Britain helped contributed to the weakening of their once close relationship. Nevertheless, a stronger and more beneficial bond has been emerged to replace Britain. Britain’s affiliation to Canada was plummeting at the same time Canada was working on its relation with its neighbor, the United States of America. Other then both countries were beside each other, Canada and the U.S. were never as
close together, in that they did not have major influence on one another. It was not until Canada has completely separated from Britain Empire, that America begun to noticed the advantages of what Canada had in store for them. Being close to one another was a benefit that many American and Canadian people took usage of trades. As a result, American increased its trade market with Canada, and this led to increase of prosperity in Canada’s Economy. Not only did America contribute to Canada’s economy, but also their culture came to Canada and sparked many new Canadian cultures. The U.S. once thought of just a neighbor to Canada, but now their relationship with Canada is one of the strongest bonds in the whole world. Canada and the U.S. been closely connected to the extent that they had made decisions together. Since the emerging of their relationship, the mutual bond between the U.S. and Canada has continued to strengthen, resulting in the transformation of Canada’s economy, culture, and
and decision-making.
