I am doing a campaign for my public relations class to increase adoption awareness amoungst college and just graduated age people. I was wondering if anyone could help me out, I’ve already emailed some local animal shelters but haven’t gotten any responses
What are you looking for in a potential dog adopter? Do you only adopt out to people who’ve had dogs in the past? What if they’ve never had a pet before? Do you have reduced fees for older dogs? Do you offer any kind of training and/or after adoption support? If so, do people use it? How do you feel about adopting out to college/just graduated college age students? Do people have to have a house with a fenced in yard or is an apartment fine? Please feel free to throw in any pertinant information about adoptions that I might have not asked about.
Also, do you ever do events, like adoption drives or just general awareness about animals adoption, abuse, etc…, where you bring some of the animals (dogs) to the event with you?
