I fear that Muslims will all be thought of as terrorists in the future as they are the only threat the west will (hopefully) encounter. And to be truthfull – although its quite illogical – I feel a bit iffy aound them, even though ive met many muslims and found them to be very decent. I think my main point is, is that you only ever hear about the bad side of Islam, and the good side of this great religion is never whispered of.
But who’s fault is that?

The main problem with Muslims is that they don’t publicly condemn their radical fringe.
Whether it is out of fear of reprisal or some form of solidarity, it makes them suspect.

I think you have a point. Islam has gotten a bad rap because of a few who aren’t even good Muslims. And I think also because of our unwavering support of Israel and unwillingness to see the Isreali-Palentinian conflict from any perspective except for that of Israel. This is something we can all address. That being said, I think Muslims also need to continue to work to correct the prevailing attitudes.
There are good messages out there, but it’s harder for them to stick. Hopefully, with time, we can get over this and seperate terrorism from Islam, which I think will help to greatly reduce the power of terrorists.

No, the problem with Islam is not bad publicity. It is the fact that Islam was founded by a warrior who thought the best way to promote his religion was by the sword. Al Qaeda and others like them are only following the prophet’s example. Violence is promoted against infidels in the Koran.
There is no other major religion that is as violent as Islam. Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, are all pacifistic compared to Islam. You really opened yourself up on that one, honey.

ML could not be more right. The moderates are not vocal enough about how they feel about the radical segment of their religion.
So, yes the problem is part Pr, part why isn’t there more good pr…you see what I mean…kind of? the fact that there is no good PR out there is concerning….why aren’t they standing up furiously against the crazies….?
