I am a writer, editor, photographer and graphic designer with six years experience and an English degree. I have worked in journalism, media relations and, more recently, for a research center at a major university.

I am beginning to take on a freelance job with a new client. This will be my first side job and I have always been salaried for this kind of work.

How do I determing how much to charge per hour for my services? I will be doing ad design for print, web design and editing, and developing print materials, such as brochures and booklets.

I am a web content writer working for the website of the national news channel of India, I am keen to spruce up my career in public relations, however, I don’t have any experience in media relations and in writing I hold an experience of more than a year…I’ve heard that PR has more creativity and rewards than in content writing because it gets monotonous after a period…please suggest me the pros and cons of both careers…I am an eng hons grad and hold a diploma in TV journalism too!!

My brother who is a Democrat works in public relations at VH1 HQ in New York. He tells me that the people in media are liberals and almost everyone in his office loves Obama. i asked him why and he didn’t give me a good answer.

Why are there so many liberals found in jobs like the media, communcations, public relations, and journalism?

I am going to be releasing a website and I want to use a few online press release services. I am not looking for free press release services, I have no problem paying the fees for the press releases, but I want to be sure I use the ones that create results. Has anyone used an online press release service such as prweb.com or pr.com and so on that they really liked and saw results from?
I already have multiple press releases written so I am just trying to find the best website to submit them to
