I have been playing a friend’s Ibanez Talman TCY10 and I like that. I played an Epiphone PR-4ENA today in a store but it sounded a bit off. After reading reviews online about the Epiphone, it seems like only some have fret sound issues, just depends on the one you get. Any suggestions or help is appreciated.
I am looking for an acoustic-electric guitar for about $200 or less. What are some good models?

I’m not sure how much it is, but I got an Acoustic made by Alvarez, and it’s really good. I don’t think that it would be very expensive. Hope this helped.

I doubt you’ll find a “good” acoustic/electric for $200, but if you could extend your budget to near $300, I would suggest a Fender CD-60. Fender has a package-deal going that includes a very nice hard-shell case for about $280 + tax.
Tip: Whatever you buy, don’t buy off the web. Buy from a store that has a guitar-tech on staff who can make sure the guitar is set-up properly. Set-up is not only critical for pros, but also for beginners that haven’t developed good finger-strength yet. The easier it plays, the more you’ll be inspired to spend time practicing, and the quicker you’ll progress.
Guitars in this price range do not usually come with an optimum set-up, but most stores will be happy to do a quick set-up check for you before you pull out your wallet. (But you have to ask)
