He’s not really saying much at all. He states that he wasn’t going to give his opponents too much information so his message was purposefully vague.

He’s interested in appealing to more urban people but doesn’t state how he’s planning on doing that other than with “the Internet and advertisements on radio, on television and in print”.

Conservatism is universal…it doesn’t change to fit a certain group instead it should be consistent. If this is what Steele is going to promote, then I’m fine with that, if not, then no.

As far as appealing to urban locations, blacksin particularr, agree with most republican stances on most social issues. Remember, it’s because of them that Prop 8 was shot down in Calf.

The Republican Party is going to need a lot more than a PR campaign. Are we to believe that they are abandoning their concentration of effort on the wealthy and trickle down in order to embrace the interests of the middle class and the poor? Will the Republican Party abandon its appeal to the religious ultraconservatives and the racists?

Will the Republican Party actually become a progressive party, daring to go beyond the cutting edge as Michael Steele implies? I think not.

Im more conservative than Republican. i think people would see it as a ‘publicity stunt” or a side show. He needs to just stick to the relavent issues and “keep it real”. Using that ‘hip-hop language’ would be a big mistake. Trying to change the image of Republicans won’t do any good. Stupid people see us as “rich people with no emotions.” I’m far from that!

Anyway, enough people, and the NeoLiberal media, see Mr Steele as a “token” or an “Obama wannabe” as it is.

No I don’t, The very fact that the GOP even picked Michael Steele shows their on the wrong track, Their playing the same kinda politics liberals do. This is no time for the Republican party to be reinventing themselves, What they need is to get back to true Ronald Regan conservatism, And start telling these conservative heathens that want to throw God out of the party to take a walk . Mich McConnell made a speech to GOP leaders in Washington that the party needs to reach out to minority voters more, And then right exactly after that he picks Steele to head the party ? That is not the Republican party I know . Don’t get me wrong, I like Steele a lot, He is a real conservative, But this is no time for the Republicans to be playing politics and working on marketing schemes to market themselves, What they need is to work on the product, Not marketing it , If they keep this up, The Dem’s are going to have the White House again in 2012 . I don’t like their strategy at all, And their going to continue to divide this party if they keep it up . God bless.

In all honesty, I’ve been seeing a general trend towards what he is talking about, but only on a small scale, maybe he will ramp it up.
