Does Pier 1 have a lot of bad debt?

To obtain Pier 1 Imports’ financial statements you can go to www.Pier1.com and click on the link at the bottom of the first page titled Investor’s Relations and then choose Annual Reports and Proxy Statements.

Does Pier 1 have a significant amount of bad debts? How can you tell?

What types of debt does Pier 1 Company have? Where did you find this information?

In addition to selling treasury stock, a company may use treasury stock when stock options are exercised or when debt is converted to stock. Pier 1 used some of its treasury shares to do this during 2000 and 2001. Where is this disclosed in the financial statements? How has the dollar amount of treasury shares on the comparative balance sheets decreased while, at the same time, the statement of cash flows shows cash outflow for the purchase of treasury shares.

i have done ms.c in mass communication .now i m working with chief minister as information officer

are you content of the choice you made, does it assure a bright future, what subjects do you study, any detalies worth knowing?

The reason I ask this question is because I would like to have a career in this feild. However, I have some apprehensions. plus, I am wondering if PR firms would still be as accepting to hiring a publicist that is plus size or not. The public relations industry can (at times) be a difficult industry to break into, however I just want a little feedback if it would be especially harder for me?

P.S: I’m looking for helpful not hurtful responses and if you don’t have any productive or constructive comments to contribute then I will report you. Thanks!

Excerpts:

Extensive research was conducted by the Jawa Report to determine the source of smears directed toward Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Those smears included false allegations that she belonged to a secessionist political party and that she has radical anti-American views.

Our research suggests that a subdivision of one of the largest public relations firms in the world most likely started and promulgated rumors about Sarah Palin that were known to be false. These rumors were spread in a surreptitious manner to avoid exposure.

It is also likely that the PR firm was paid by outside sources to run the smear campaign. While not conclusive, evidence suggests a link to the Barack Obama campaign. Namely:

* Evidence suggests that a YouTube video with false claims about Palin was uploaded and promoted by members of a professional PR firm.

* The family that runs the PR firm has extensive ties to the Democratic Party, the netroots, and are staunch Obama supporters.

* Evidence suggests that the firm engaged in a concerted effort to distribute the video in such a way that it would appear to have gone viral on its own. Yet this effort took place on company time.

* Evidence suggests that these distribution efforts included actions by at least one employee of the firm who is unconnected with the family running the company.

* The voice-over artist used in this supposedly amateur video is a professional.

* This same voice-over artist has worked extensively with David Axelrod’s firm, which has a history of engaging in phony grassroots efforts, otherwise known as “astroturfing.”

* David Axelrod is Barack Obama’s chief media strategist.

* The same voice-over artist has worked directly for the Barack Obama campaign.

WHO PRODUCED THE VIDEO?

[UPDATE: Within 1 hour of posting, “eswinner” has removed all videos from YouTube and began removing any traces of his activities. But we have the video and all relevant websites backed up.

Your responses are looked forward to. Thanks!

i don’t want to learn these things as a profession. just a professional skill. Also I would prefer to know them as rapidly as possible. Do you have to practice forever or are basic skills sufficient?
Business License Questions?
Posted by admin in Small Business on 08 23rd, 2009| icon31 Comment »

I live in New York state, and I know the rules and guidelines are different for every state when it comes to obtaining business licenses. I want to start a home based business which will be a sole proprietorship. I am selling a service, not a product. Basically my services will relate to investor relations and I will be hired by smaller macro cap companies. Do I need a business license for these services? I am 23 years of age and have been wanting to start my own business but unsure how in terms of licenses. I know I can contact my city officials, but figured I would ask on here first.

Also will I have to file taxes quarterly? I definitely have a plan for my business, but most will agree that you can never predict gross income. What if my business does not take off the way I am planning? How will it effect my taxes?

Thanks in advance and please only comment if you truly know what you are talking about.

‘Marketing Mix’

I’m a psychology major and a spanish minor and I am trying to figure out good careers to pursue. I was wondering if someone could give me some information on some careers in the television, music, or magazine industries that go along with my major and minor.

I’ve had an internship in a fashion public relations firm but I didn’t learn much at all about the area and I am interested in other options other than pr.

Thanks!

give me like 5 or something … thank you
