My boyfriend and I are thinking of moving near Beaufort, SC if he gets stationed at Parris Island. I am in the Marketing/Public Relations/Advertising field and I know there would be more opportunities available closer to Charleston. Are there any towns/cities between the two places that would make the commute a little smaller both ways?

I live in Beaufort. There are not a lot of housing opportunities between Charleston and Beaufort. If you found one, you would feel very, very removed from the activity of the Lowcountry.
I have had several friends over the years commute daily from Beaufort to Charleston. Depending on which part of Charleston you’re going to, you can count on a commute of at least 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Savannah is a little closer, if you are looking for a bigger town to commute to.
