I’m a college student looking for internships with public relations firms in Atlanta. I have been trying and trying to land one with a particular firm since the end of last year. I’ve contacted the founder of the firm on several occasions through e-mail, phone, even Facebook! I got the opportunity to volunteer for an event with the firm in February, and the founder invited me to interview for a summer internship, but I never heard anything back from her. I called to find out when I could interview and she told me that the position was already filled…..

So here I am again, trying to secure an internship for the fall, and I just recently came across another public relations firm in Atlanta. However, the founder of this firm is apparently a close business associate of the firm that I have been trying to work with for nearly a year.

Would it be in bad taste for me to contact the second firm about internship opportunities since they know each other so well, or am I overthinking it?

I’m wondering what kinds of jobs I could get and what duties they entail. I’m currently working on Spanish major and business minor but, I want to major in this also.

What sort of job could I get in Public Relations w/ these skills?

Political Payoffs?
Posted by admin in Other - Politics & Government on 08 14th, 2009| icon31 Comment »

Do you guys think it is ethical for Public Relations Firms to donate to certain political candidates?

Is it a part of relationship building or do you guys think it is favorible treatment?

For example, a PR firm gave football tickets and sold out show tickets to 23 lottery officials (This firm had a 3 year lottery contract)

what do you guys think?

I have been looking at Columbia College Chicago for their AEMM grad. program and was looking at focusing in Performing Arts Management, but now I’m looking more into programs that are Public Relations/Advertising based.

Does Columbia College Chicago have a graduate program for PR, or is it undergraduate only? I didn’t see it specifically listed on the site, but wanted to know if there is a PR program tied into any of the general AEMM grad. programs there.

I am moving to missouri and i would really like to find a job with a company that does a significant amount of “good”. “Good” is open to your interpretation. I can not work for a non-profit agency because the money is horrible. It is going to have to be a large private company. I am looking for a wide array of suggestions. Please tell me the name of the company that i should do marketing or public relations for. Thank you.
